Some years later she began working at the Café at Magness Livestock and also at Cliff’s Cafe in Yale. Later Arlene began working at K-Mart, eventually retiring from there. Arlene taught Sunday School at Mount Olivet Church all the years her children were attending. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, relaxing with family and friends at their cabin at Lake Byron, and camping with her husband, Byron in their motor home. They took trips to California to visit friends and family, but the Black Hills was always their favorite vacation destination.

Arlene will be missed by her daughters, Carmen Holland of Oak View, California, and Dawn (Larry) Almond of the Black Hills, sons, Dallas of Cavour and Rex of Huron; grandchildren, Corey Holland of Ventura, California, Lance (Milly) Holland of Ojai, California and Dustin Holland of Ojai, California, Jessica (Raymond) Horsley of Pierre, (Nikki) Walter of Aberdeen, Jesse (Kristi) Walter of Woodbury, Minnesota, Justin Almond of Rapid City, and Reece (Candis) Almond of Sioux Falls; great-grandchildren, Dylan Holland of Oak View, California, Morgan and Vann Holland of Ojai, California, Addison Walter of Aberdeen, Emily Walter of Woodbury, Minnesota, and Kylen, Damen, Noah, and Kaydence Horsley of Pierre.
